here i lay.
on the ground.
away from the door.
it's where I stay,
alone in the darkness,
alone with my thoughts.
I stare at the ceiling
though I do not see it
whilst I'm daydreaming,
of everything I want.
but it won't come true.
I can dream, can't I?
I can dream alone.
I can dream with people.
I can dream.
I can just dream.
I could be outside
or doing something else
but here I am.
laying on the floor.
alone.
in the dark.
with my thoughts.
while I'm alone,
I dream of tomorrow.
what will happen.
I don't know.
but all I know is
that I can dream,
of what might
happen.

 ------ well, i wrote this as my writing sample for my english class. the teacher told us to write something about a quote on a poster on the classroom walls and turn it in. so i wrote a poem instead of a story/essay. i mean seriously, i don't even know how to write a essay/story out of a small quote. how does he expect us to do that?! uhh well i guess he wants to see how we write...? i'm still progressing... here's the quote i'm writing about; "alone with my thoughts, I can dream of tomorrow." |
